I can’t say enough how much I love what Hollywood has done with (most) superhero franchises lately. Yes there have been disappointing sequels but for the most part they have been above average and have not just brought us action but more drama, comedy, etc. With all that being said I have to say that Iron Man has become one of my favorite comic book/superhero movies of all time.
The plot follows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who is in the arms business. Stark is loaded and has everything material that a man can obtain. We quickly see him thrown into a different world that opens his eyes to the chaos he has been helping distribute. Downey has always been a talented actor and fun to watch on the screen. His performance alone makes this movie great. I must admit that I was unsure when I first heard about him playing the role of Iron Man, but after seeing the movie you couldn’t ask for a better fit.
I highly recommend this film for the great performances and very good pacing. It has about everything a summer blockbuster needs!

Iron Man has always been on of my favourite comic book characters. Not seen the movie yet but its definately on my to watch list along with the new Hulk movie.

I took my kids to see this movie, and I have to agree it is awesome. I’m not one who likes to go and see movies twice, but I am thinking about going and seeing this one again. Good review.

i totally agree, its a perfect popcorn movie, excellent visual effects, pretty good story on how iron man came to be… ironman looks a bit funny when he’s flying though…

Fun movie although not my favorite. I do enjoy Robert Downy more now though and want to watch some of his other movies. I recommend anyone that wants to see it they should. It is a great fun and actiony movie.

I could not agree more ! It is a perfekct saturday night movie… Next on my list is Hancook but I guess that one is with a comic twist and that could be fun too

Truly, I was not expecting that from “Robert Downey Jr”. I have seen many of pictures in past but this is his best movie. Even I was expecting something similar to spider man or superman but it is unique and superb movie.

I too loved this movie indeed! The movie really rocked but I will give it 8 of 10. Downey certainly has made a strong comeback!

I saw this film a while ago in a drive-in movie theater. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting too much. I’ve never been a fan of too many comic book movies besides Tim Burton’s Batmans and Hellboy, all the others were a let down for me. However, once the movie had finished I thought they did a pretty good job at his portrayal.
The movie actually inspired me to go see the Hulk, which I also enjoyed.

This was a great movie…I hope Robert Downey’s role will re-energize his acting career. He has always been one of my favorite actors.

I too, wasn’t sure about Robert Downey Jr. playing, ‘Tony Stark’ but… After seeing the Movie… Wow!
It worked better than I could have ever imagined.
The Movie Was AWESOME!
Matter of fact, the only thing wrong with the movie (Is it just me?), I just wanted More action from IRON MAN!
I wasn’t ready for the Movie to end.

Iron Man is one of the best comic book movies made. I think a large part is due to Robert Downey Jr. For me, he made the movie. His performance was spot on perfect.

robert downey jnr was an excellent choice as iron man after all an ex drugg addict playing a drunk come on doesnt get much closer. any way cant wait for the sequel in 2011

I was excited to watch this movie when I saw the trailer on the cinema. Actually, if I didn’t happen to see the trailer, I wouldn’t discover that they an “Iron Man” Movie is coming. I would rate the movie 8 out of 10. 8-10 because, I was able to watch some movies that is quiet better that Iron Man. But anyway, I still Downloaded the Iron Man Game on my PSP, but didnt enjoy it as much as I did with my other PSP games.

Iron man was my absolute favorite comic when i was a kid. Now that I have seen the movie it has become my favorite movie as an adult. LOL Maybe I am a little bias but I would highly recommend seeing Iron Man if you already haven’t.

Possibly one of the best performances of RDJrs carreer, He was so good in this role because i think his character pretained to himself in realife. Iron Man will definately go down as a cult classic and for most people that dont like these superhero movies they are starting to make it more and more for you views using real life situations and stunts. Not showing the character in his superhero form as much only adds to the excitment when you do get to see him or her!

Great to see that finally Iron Man has brought to the big screen. And for this adaptation is actually one good work that almost perfectly transferred the worthy comic to cinema experience

I really liked iron Man. For an action movie it had a really good story line. It had great special affects and graphics.i do not buy very many movies on DVD. But, when Iron Man domes out I think i am going to buy it. That is if it ever comes out on DVD. Who knows if it ever will. Thanks for the nice review.

Great movie indeed. After a scanner darkly, i was also rather skeptical of seeing Downey play iron man, but yeah, he did a great job that’s for sure, not to mention i’ve always liked the movies Gwyneth Paltrow played in. Nowadays it’s so much easier to make a nice movie, especially with the visual effects available, most of them done in a 100 square meter room too. Anyway, great movie and a must see!

I loved this movie. I think it was the best Hollywood comic book charactor movie yet. My wife even loved this movie and thats saying something. She’s usually not in to these types of movies, but she liked it. Two thumbs up.

I like this movie.. Iron Man tells the story of billionaire defense contractor.. The Iron Man sequences have a streak of realism in the way they are shot, with the exception of one brief scene..

The thing I like about Iron Man is that it is an advanced “gadgety” film lauding the fun of being a super geek.
It’s the same feeling I have always had while assembling the most complex Lego sets.
In addition, we used Lego to design interactive models during my Masters program in mathematics.
For me, Lego has always meant combining the best of childhood play with serious thinking.

Iron Man was a great movie. It was a huge kick off to the summer of 08. It has nice action, comedy and some romance to beat. It’s a stellar superhero movie. I am happy that there will be a second version =D
