I have been using Amazon Prime for about 6 months and I can tell you that I use it all the time. After the free trial you have to pay a year subscription of around $70 / per year. At first that sounds like a too much but you can buy everything from Blu-Rays to a Telescope and get free two shipping. You can also use it for 4 different shipping addresses. So you could basically share it with a family member or a friend.
Great service especially if you like to use online for shopping on a regular basis.

To answer some questions, I’ve noticed that most new movies (especially the popular/box-office hits) are released on both DVD and Blu-Ray at the same time.
Now as far as older movies that have already been released on DVD but not yet on Blu-Ray, the delay could be caused by many things from copyrights, etc. It also takes time and money obviously to remaster an older film for High Definition viewing. I think you’ll see a lot more classic movies coming to Blu-Ray soon.

Amazon has recently been coming out with some really great ideas. You can tell they are trying to position themselves in the market to take advantage of the lucrative business of DVD / Blue Ray movie rentals. it will be interesting to see how well this service does and how long it takes them to get the service off the ground

I agree, Amazon Prime is great. I also like the new Netflix “watch instantly” feature for movies I don’t want to own. If you have solid broadband, the quality is pretty good.

I can watch them on the big screen!And It will be interesting how well this does on amazon, everyone knows the movie business is having troubles due to piracy, but maybe this will help it pick up.

That’s cool but I don’t have a Blu-Ray player. I only recently got a proper DVD player one that is Region Free at that…. Most BW clips are incredible grainy…. There are several audio drop-outs… It is too bad because I expected “That’s Entertainment”, in Blu-ray to be altogether better than the DVD collection….
