SONY RELEASES LABYRINTH AND THE DARK CRYSTAL on Blu-Ray
Sony released two great Jim Henson movies on Blu-Ray. Both Pan’s Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal were released on Blu-Ray yesterday 9/29/09.
These are both great family movies that are rich in creativity. I recommend both of these movies and I can’t wait to see the result of how they look in 1080p.
They are going for $18.99 @ Amazon, which is not a bad price for these movies.

Both Labyrinth and Dark Crystal are classic movies. I remember being scared watching these movies as a kid. I wouldn’t mind checking then out again in high def.

blu-ray uses special technology which allows more space and 1080p hi-def which is the best right now. It allows the best sound and picture and also becuase of the space which is usually 25 GB which is alot even computers use 80GB and this is only a movia.

Do you mean Pan’s Labyrinth, or Labyrinth? Either way, they’re both incredible films.. just one has slightly more goblins in it.

That’s great. Thanks for announcing this.

Good post, I however disagree (an honest disagreement) with the bolding and attempt to highlight words. Your comments should not be so long that you need to highlight certain sections, short and sweet are best.

“just one has slightly more goblins in it”. Don’t call David Bowie a goblin.

Two of my all time favorite movies. Can not wait to catch these in Blue-Ray!

I’m sorry but these are two of my favorite films from my childhood. Jim Henson is a hero of mine. All of his stuff is great. I have to say I like Labyrinth a little better than Dark Crystal if only for the musical talents of David Bowie.

I know it’s probably a setting issue, but … We have a PS3 connected to our LCD TV through an HDMI cable. The games are crystal clear. Blu-Rays are usually clear (especially when the picture is bright and colorful).

You can have the most crystal clear advanced tv, but if the original film wasn’t up to par, the film will not show that way on the screen.

Luckily I had T2 on blu-ray and that did have it and was able to use that instead but I gotta call BS on Indy - and I call BS on the whole sad plot of that movie anyway.

Really really excited about seeing labrinth on BluRay 1080, David Bowie rocks this film, used to watch it all the time as a kid. Can anyone remember what the puzzle is that the two trolls give to her? Its to find out what door is thr right door to go through, something along the lines of “one of us always tells the truth the other always lies, ask us two questions to find out which one is the right door?” answers please
