LOCKERZ Website
OK another random website I came across (and another random post). It is called Lockerz and you get points for just signing in and answering “Dailies” (Daily questions). If you invite 20 people you can earn more points. This site is an invite only type site.
It appears to have different prizes ranging from game consoles (PS3, XBOX 360), gift cards, and fashion accessories.
Upon joining you get to play a game that can give you a decent amount of points.
The Pros - Earn points fairly quickly, easy to use, lots of variety of redeemable gifts, For International and USA users
The Cons - Redeemable gifts are not in stock all the time
I haven’t noticed any problems with spam or any type of misuse. Anyways, it seems legit and you could score yourself a Blu-Ray (PS3) player or iPod, among other things.
If you are interested in signing up let me know, just comment and I’ll send an invite to your e-mail (the one attached to your comment). It’s worth a shot! (You can help me get some extra points too)

Places to Earn some Money/Points for DVD/BLU-RAY
There are some sites out there that I’ve been using, some good and some not so good. I usually stick with reviewing and news on movies but this is still a blog site, so I’m going to share other random information with you at times.
I’ve found some of these sites really help to get you some gift cards and money to (at least) help me pay for my love of movies. That is usually in the form of DVDs and Blu-Rays, mostly the latter.
Here are some sites to check out -
- YOUDATA - youdata is a site where they pay you for looking at ads. As far as I can tell this is a no nonsense site. You give out some info about yourself via surveys, then they set you up to click through some ads. They pay directly to your PayPal account on Fridays. Follow the link to check it out - CLICK HERE.
- SWAG BUCKS - Swagbucks.com rewards you points for using their search tool (which is powered by Google/Ask.com). You can get a lot of rewards ranging from game consoles to gift cards. They also have swag codes that you can use to get even more swagbucks. You’ve seen the banners on my site for this one. Follow the link here to join - CLICK HERE.
These two sites seem to help me get some extra cash/gift cards towards the thing I love most. Go ahead and check them out for yourself.

Blu-Ray Finds It’s Way Home
Blu-Ray finds it’s way home….well that is my home. I finally invested in a Blu-Ray Player and a TV that does 1080p. After Warner Bros. moved only to Blu-Ray and HD-DVD was left in the dust I though I better get up with the times.
After much deliberation I decided to go with the Playstation 3 40GB instead of a stand alone player. Mainly because there seemed to be many issues with the early stand alone players and the PS3 can easily get firmware updates through it’s wireless capabilities.
After all said and done I’m very impressed with Blu-Ray movies. Aside from a couple, all have been a great deal better in quality of sound and video over the DVD versions. Now don’t get me wrong we aren’t talking VHS vs. DVD, but it is still it (being Blu-Ray) is quite a bit better.
So I definitely recommend adding a Blu-Ray player whenever you can afford to add it to your home theater. Here it begins now I have to start collecting Blu-Rays and slowly phase out the DVD collection. What are your Blu-Ray experiences, questions, thoughts?

Where Are All The Great Horror Movies?
Since Halloween is coming up soon I’m definitely in the mood for some scary movies. I’ve always enjoyed watching suspenseful and terrifying movies. This leads me to my question….where are all the genuine horror movies?
Lately it seems like there is a horror movie coming out every weekend, in my opinion, most of them are not that good. I think the problem is that they have turned from eerie environments, great music, and intelligent editing, to gore/torture. I’m not sure why gore and torture are featured in majority of the franchises of late (Saw, Hostel, Hills Have Eyes), Do we really enjoy watching torture and gratuitous violence? It doesn’t scare me, it’s more like how gross can they get. These movies have some good things about them but it seems to be taken away from the over done elements that I’m talking about.
Obviously violence has always played some part in horror movies, but to watch 5-10 minutes straight of someone getting picked apart seems like overkill (no pun intended) and flat out sick. I miss the days of genuine scares, movies like Psycho, Halloween, and Poltergeist (to name a few).
Now I’m sure many will disagree with me and these types of movies seem to be doing very well in the theaters, but this is just my opinion and plea to bring back some good old school horror movies.

P.S. Here are some horror movies I suggest for Halloween if you haven’t had a chance to see them. (This of course is just a small portion of the good horror movies out there)
